Living in an apartment community can prove challenging when it’s Halloween, and you want to find some activities for the kids, as well as for the adults. If it’s your first time living in an apartment during the Halloween season, or you’re new to Round Rock, here are some options that can help you celebrate with your friends and family this fall.
Can You Trick-Or-Treat at an Apartment Complex?
One of the questions families often have when they live with kids in an apartment community is whether there are any options for trick-or-treating inside the complex, or whether a visit to a nearby neighborhood is needed for the true Halloween experience.
An article posted on Angie’s List reveals:
“Unlike residential neighborhoods, apartment communities tend to be made up of a wide variety of residents, including college students, single adults, young families, and retired individuals or couples. So families may not be sure what their options are for taking their children trick or treating.”
If you’re a parent and you have a child who is of an age to go trick-or-treating, there are a few options when you live in an apartment community.
Spread the word inside your apartment community that you’d like to arrange for kids to trick-or-treat inside the complex. Residents can choose to participate by placing a note on their door that invites trick-or-treaters to knock and receive a treat.
You could also arrange an Easter egg hunt but for Halloween in one of the common areas of the community. If you have a play area or a grassy place, you can hide treats and have the kids search for their treats with other families from the apartment community.
Find local activities for Round Rock-area residents that occur on or around Halloween. Spend an afternoon driving around neighborhoods to see Halloween decorations, or participate in a local Halloween festival like a hayride or fall-themed corn maze.
Attend Hometown Halloween on October 31
One of the best activities during the spookiest time of the year is the Hometown Halloween event in downtown Round Rock, which happens from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Halloween night.
According to an official Round Rock site:
“Downtown Round Rock knows how to put on an event, and Halloween is no exception! The Hometown Halloween celebration is a great way to connect with your community, have fun with your family, and best of all, it creates a stress-free, scare-free environment where the treats are sweet, and the activities are far from tricky!”
One of the activities available at the festival is trick-or-treating at businesses around downtown, which is an excellent option for families in apartment communities who need to travel to find trick-or-treating opportunities.
